The Right to Information Act No. 12 of 2016
In order to obtain information related to this institution under the above Act, an application bearing RTI 01 can be applied to the following information officer. Submission of this application is not mandatory.

- Submit the application or letter or oral request for information to the Information Officer and get a letter of receipt.
- You will be informed as soon as possible, in any case within 14 days, whether information relating to your request can be provided.
- If the Commission decides to provide you with the requested information, it will notify you if a prescribed fee is payable. If you have to pay to get the information, you will be provided with the information within 14 days, on payment of the fee or free of charge if you do not have to pay the fee.
- If it is difficult to provide the information within 14 days after payment of fees, the information officer will provide you with the information you requested within an additional period of not more than 21 days stating the reasons for extending the said period.
- In cases where requests for information concern the life and personal liberty of a citizen, the response to the request will be made within 48 hours of receiving the request.
- In relation to a request for information
- Refusal to accept a request for information;
- Refusal to grant access to any information due to information exempted from disclosure under section 5 of the Act,
- Failure to comply with the deadlines specified by the Act,
- Providing incomplete, misleading or inaccurate information;
- Overcharging,
- Refusal by the Information Officer to provide information in the format requested,
- The citizen receiving the information has reasonable grounds to believe that the information has been distorted, destroyed or misplaced to prevent the citizen from accessing the information.
Appeal within 14 days if unsatisfied.
- In filing an appeal as per Section 6, fill and submit RTI application No. 10. It is not mandatory to fill out the application form. The person requesting the information can submit the appeal by letter specifying the basic information required to hear the appeal mentioned in the application.
